Task: This project was split into two portions: designing a user interface (UI) for a car's infotainment system as a group and then individually creating a comprehensive process book to document the design journey.
Working as part of a team of five, my primary role focused on crafting the user interactions and experience, ensuring a seamless and intuitive flow between features. The design challenge lay in balancing functionality and usability, given the constraints of in-car systems, such as minimizing driver distractions while offering essential features like navigation, music, and personalized suggestions. To address this, we conducted thorough research, including user surveys and competitor UI deconstruction, to inform our design decisions.
Key insights, such as the average commute time and user preferences for quick access to critical information, shaped our features like the customizable lock screen widgets. The individually designed process book served to visualize the entire workflow—from research and planning to high-fidelity prototyping—providing a polished presentation that highlights the depth and thoughtfulness of our approach.
